Lagos is the last yacht marina before heading out into the Atlantic proper, hence its facilities are many and varied. This port on the Rio Bensafrim used to house the only slave market in Portugal and some of the old buildings from the era are still in evidence. There is an interesting museum and good nightlife in the town area.
