Over the past 40 years Estepona has grown from a sleepy fishing village into a busy town. The harbour, as well as being a haven for the fishing fleet, now boasts a modern yacht marina, alongside which are many bars and restaurants catering to the needs of the residents of the marina and the many housing developments that have sprung up in this area. This area is very popular as a second home for many northern Europeans so the social scene tends to be multilingual. Estepona port hosts the Sunday Market which attracts a lot of visitors and bargains can be found amid the vast array of goods on offer if you take the time to look. Nightlife can also be found in the town which is within walking distance of the marina.
